Equine Vet
Fancy becoming a vet? Help treat ill and injured horses, very varied job role from routine checks of vaccinations, drawing bloods, prescribing medication and much more. Not for the faint hearted. Studies to become a vet can be up to 4 years. Normally based on the road or at a Equine hospital. Can earn a very high salary.
Riding Instructor
A riding Instructor, is a great career path, if you love being outdoors and around horses. Help teach people of all levels, can be a really varied job . Helping clients at shows warming up, help them with show preparation. Working through problems. Teaching Pony Clubs or Riding Clubs. Developing a relationship and trust with clients. Price can very depending on location and qualification.
Farrier
A Farrier's routine is primarily hood trimming and shoeing. As well as the routine checks farrier's can help with injured or infected problems, help with conformational challenges. Very hard work and physical work.
Mounted Police Officer
Mounted police officers use their horses to provide crowd control and deter crime, Mounted officers must first achieve regular police office status via police academy training and then spend three years on the force before becoming eligible to apply for the specialty units like the mounted Police Officer
Jockey
A jockey rides racehorses in flat or steeplechases races. A jockey can ride in multiple races a day, as well as taking horses out first thing in the morning. long days riding anything between 3- 10 horses a day.
